SCULPTURE FOR KIDS

Service Description

​​COURSE DESCRIPTION: Have fun creating in clay and learning sculpture fundamentals. This course will focus on traditional sculpting methods and techniques that Chapman learned during his time studying in Florence, Italy. Project subjects will include animals, fantasy creatures, portraits, and more. Students will learn to work from life, photographs, and imagination. There will also be personal projects where students will get to explore their own ideas with the guidance and feedback of Chapman. MATERIALS: Water-based clay and sculpture tools will be provided. Some clay modelling tools and oil-based clay will need to be purchased by the student. A materials list will be sent out a few weeks prior to the first class. GRADES: 1st & up TIME: Mondays 9:50 - 10:50 AM CLASS SIZE: 16 students CLASS DURATION: 2 semester class (15 weeks per semester) Start Date: September 11, 2023. Academic Calendar with breaks for holidays TBA. (IGNORE CALENDAR DATES LISTED BELOW.) LOCATION: Backyard Studio in South Huntington Beach, CA. PRICE: $ 375 per semester (this is a 2 semester course) plus $30 non-refundable registration fee to hold your spot. CHARTERS: If you would like to use your charter funds towards a Chapman Hamborg art class please submit a request to me as a vendor to your charter. Also send me an email letting me know you would like me to become a vendor with your charter.
