​COURSE DESCRIPTION: Join us for an unforgettable experience painting en plein air at picturesque beaches in Newport and Laguna. Throughout this workshop, you'll delve into capturing the essence of the seaside environment, from the rhythmic waves to the ever-changing clouds. Guided by experienced instructor Chapman Hamborg, you'll embark on a journey of artistic discovery, mastering a step-by-step process to create captivating works of art inspired by the natural world. By the end of the workshop, you'll have gained valuable insights into selecting compelling compositions, honing your drawing skills through preliminary sketches, and applying color theory to capture the vibrant hues of the coastal landscape. You'll also explore a variety of brushwork techniques to add texture and depth to your painting, while learning the nuances of atmospheric perspective. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter, this workshop welcomes artists of all skill levels. Come join us as we capture the beauty of the California coast together. (If you have your own you can bring please let me know.) A materials list will be sent to you after you register for the workshop.
